I enjoy video editing the most. I began with Hitfilm when I was in middle school but transitioned to Adobe over the pandemic and am now trying to implement Davinci into my workflow. My favorite part of editing is experimenting to create unique new effects—I could spend hours sitting in After Effects. Because I am self taught, I started off with motion graphics and have the most experience in it since I don't need any footage to start making things but I want to get better at VFX and compositing.
I also picked up Blender the summer before senior year because I wanted to use 3D to elevate my editing game. I have dipped my toes in every aspect, including of course the basic modelling and texturing but I have gravitated towards the character workflow. I think learning about modelling proper topology for character animation, rigging, and principles of animation itself is very interesting!
Throughout the years I have gained an interest in photography. Unfortunately I bought my camera right before the pandemic so I didn't have a chance to use it for 2 years, but I'm ready now! I also started shooting on analog film, which has honestly helped a lot with my digital photography (as in, I actually know what the settings do and don't just shoot on auto and spray and pray haha).
These are my favorite 6 cards that I have displayed on my desk.
I love collecting cards! I have been doing so since I was a kid, starting with this Chinese cartoon called Hongmao Lantu which for some reason had a trading card game. Now I mainly collect for this game called Cardfight! Vanguard, which is an anime I grew up with. I always though this character called Dragonic Overlord was the absolute coolest and am now on a mission to collect every version of him (similar to how people collect all types of Charizard).
Of course, my card collecting hobby carried over when I began listening to K-Pop. One of the reasons why I enjoy collecting Vanguard is because the market is relatively low, so even the most expensive cards won't hit $500—that is NOT true for K-Pop... Especially my ult group Loona... Anyways, I am quite happy with how I matched the three cards I have displayed on the left of the picture. They are all look like they are balls of aluminum foil and are standing against a blue background heehee...
